300 children study at this private academic
institution with a Buddhist cultural background
situated near Pemayangtse . Founded in the early 80's
by a monk named Capt. Sonam Yongda, who was also the
captain of Sikkim guards till 1974. This school has
classes beginning from nursery to junior standard for
boys and girls. At present most teachers are westerners
who come here as volunteers and the medium of teaching
is strictly English. |

Among the students in this
school, some are orphans or deprived children of Sikkim
studying under foreign sponsorship. The institution
being Buddhist by its background children are not only
given modern education, but also they have to learn
