About Khangchendzonga tourism festival, at Pelling :

 
   
     
 

With an objective to promote tourism at Pelling a tourist festival was introduced in the year 2005 in the month of May with the joint venture of the  district administration (w) and Pelling tourism dev. Association (w) , which was named as the 1st Khangchendzonga tourism festival 2005, the main fund for the festival was allocated by the department of tourism. Since the fund remain allocated for the festival at Pelling every year, accordingly the tourist festival too is held every year at Pelling and has  become an annual feature.
 

 
     
 

The 2nd Khangchendzonga tourism festival 06 was held in the month of November 06.  

 
 

In the year 2007 entire members of P.T.D.A, hoteliers & travel agents decided to promote winter tourism and highlight Christmas season at Pelling, the dates for the 3rd Khangchendzonga tourist festival 2007 was fixed on 24th 25th 26th December 2007 and further same dates and month remained as fixed every year for the said tourism festival.
   

 
  The festival includes.  
    1. Flower exhibitions  
    2. Traditional crafts  
    3. Exhibition cum sale,  
    4. Exhibition from the different departments  
    5.

Ethnic communities food and costumes stalls.

 
    6.

Varieties of cultural folk songs, dances, music, sports, trekking, and open rock concerts.
Main event shall be the great Christmas celebration.
